Ashok (Uttam Kumar) belongs to a very wealthy business family and lives a luxurious life. One day he reads an article which claims that he is married to a dancer name Rajini (Asha Parekh). He gets furious reading that article and goes to threaten Rajini with a lawsuit, but gets attracted to her and ends up being in love with her. Ashok does not reveal his identity to her, and soon both are ready to take the next step. Before that could happen, Ashok and Rajini are embroiled in a murder.
