  • A Street Musician (Charlie Chaplin) arrives at a bar and plays a violin to earn some raise money. He gets into a fight with rival musicians, which ends up in a hilarious bar room brawl. Wandering in a gypsy colony, the musician comes across a beautiful girl (Edna Purviance) and entertains her with his music. A group of gypsies abduct her and their cheiftain (Eric Campbell) whips her without showing any mercy. Fortunately, the street musician reaches to rescue her. He hits the kidnappers with a stick on the head and rides away with the girl in a cart. He starts to build rapport with the girl as he washes her face and combs her hair. But, this happiness is short lived as her parents arrive to take her with her lover. Will she be able to realize the true love of the tramp and accept him?
