Anandi (Vidya Balan) is the young idealistic daughter of a cultured and political conscious conservative Bengali family with strong connections to nature poetry and classical music. The film revolves around her relationship with family (including uncle, brother, parents and sister), lover Babua (Joy Sengupta) who is her brother's friend and few neighbors. Nature, tradition and love are Anandi's pillars of support in difficult times. The film portrays the interactions of the idealistic, poetical sensitive spiritual conscious character of Anandi. Will she find the answers she seek in life?
