Chandrashekhara Menon (Murali) is a man working with a company for 30 years and is about to retire. He is married to Parvathi (Bharathi) and they have three grown up children. As a father, he has fulfilled all his duties towards his family and Parvathi is a mother who will go till any extent for her children. It is when he retires that his children want him to divide all his savings and property amongst them. He happily obliges, but he pretty soon realizes that his children were only after his money and had no love for their parents. The children look out for ways to evade their parents responsibility and separate their accommodation for their own selfish reasons. Mahendran Thambi (Thilakan), a man with disturbed family relations is Menon's dear friend who helps Menon during his hard times. Will the children abandon the couple or will the family survive the hard time and be back together?
